P.EBCC, Web Site Development and Appropriate Use
The Parkview web site will always be a work in progress - ever
changing and evolving to better serve the Parkview High School community of
students, parents, and educators. Your input and suggestions are very
important to our success. In order to meet the demand for adding and
updating pages, guidelines are provided here for that purpose.
- Web pages will only be developed or published which are consistent with the mission of
Parkview High School which reserves the right to edit for brevity, clarity, accuracy, and
appropriateness any and all submitted material.
- The most important thing to keep in mind while preparing to submit information for the
Parkview pages is the information itself. Do not be overly concerned with web
design and HTML at this time but read everything below. We can
develop a page for you that publishes the information you provide if it
is provided in an appropriate format.
- Type the information with an application such as Microsoft Word and provide any pictures or graphics that you may
want included.
- Do not format text with special fonts or attributes.
Fonts and special attributes
will be kept consistent with existing web pages. Most fonts will be in
Times New Roman or Arial.
- Do not use TABS or SPACES to format columns of
information. Information arranged in columns must
be constructed using a table.
- Spreadsheets with data is okay to submit and the preferred file
type is Microsoft Excel. When designing a spreadsheet for
later publication on the web, it is preferred to keep the data more
vertical than horizontal. Wide spreadsheets should be
avoided if possible.
- Provide your information electronically. Printed material
cannot be used.
- Student names, pictures of students or
student produced work should not be submitted without parental consent.
You
must obtain that consent, maintain the forms on file and verify in
writing that this has been accomplished.
- Short lived information requires your notice of expiration and should be avoided
although there are exceptions.
File Formats:
- Microsoft Word (preferred)
- Microsoft Excel
Delivery of Computer Files:
- Send to the webmaster with an attachment to tom_transou@gwinnett.k12.ga.us.
