Food, Nutrition, and
Wellness is an essential course in
understanding nutritional needs and
food choices for optimal health of
individuals. The student will learn
how nutrition choices relate to
personal wellness. The student will
develop a knowledge base and the
skills necessary to select among
alternatives in the marketplace,
with an emphasis on nutrient
content, the development of chronic
diseases, and food safety.

(Prerequisite: Food, Nutrition, and
Wellness)
Food and Nutrition
through the Lifespan is a foods and
nutrition course that addresses the
various nutritional needs throughout
the human life cycle: pregnancy,
lactation, infancy, childhood,
adolescence, adulthood, and the
elderly. The course addresses the
effects that nutrition has on the
overall health and performance of
humans. This course directs students
toward healthy lifestyle choices
that provide the ultimate foundation
for a lifetime of success. |
