Geospatial Technologies

Introduction:
Geospatial technologies is a technology field that acquires, interprets, manages, integrates displays, analyzes, or otherwise uses data focusing on the geographic, temporal, and spatial context. Coordinating geographic data acquisition and access, the geographic information acquired is critical to promote economic development, improve stewardship of natural resources, and protect the environment. Modern technology now permits improved acquisition, distribution, and utilization of geospatial data and mapping. Geospatial technologies affords the ability to  predicting a storm’s path, provide valuable combat support to troops, or even navigate ones vehicle to the mall, and most importantly, combat the unexpected threats such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and terrorist attacks, with the ability to pinpoint and analyze situations within a blink of an eye. Access to information and communication systems provided by geospatial technologies will directly impact the access to information which mission critical operation are accomplished in the future.
