My Education:

I hold a BA in Sociology, an M.Ed. in Social Studies Secondary Education and an Education Specialist in Teaching and Learning.  I earned my ESOL endorsement certification through the professional development of Gwinnett County Public Schools.   

My Family:

I am married to Rick and have two daughters, Sabrina and Ali.  Rick recently retired from the Federal Aviation Agency as an Air Traffic Controller.  He is currently a member of the faculty at the FAA Academy at the University of Oklahoma.  Sabrina is a former Georgia Dog, is married to David Walker and is a sales manager for Canongate Golf in Atlanta.  Ali, a Parkview High School sophomore, plays the cello in the Gwinnett Community Symphony Orchestra, the Gwinnett Ballet Orchestra and Parkview's Chamber Orchestra.  She also plays on the Parkview Golf Team.

My Students:

I teach World Geography, World History and United States History to students who are learning English as their second (sometimes third and fourth) language.  The Gwinnett County Public School (GCPS) system has students with over 100 different home languages other than English and I am very proud to be a part of the educational system that serves these newest members of our community. GCPS Demographics
