ABOUT ME
| Education: I have three college diplomas. I received my Bachelor of Science in English Education at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA in 1972. I earned my Master of Education in English Education from Georgia State University in August 1995 and completed my Specialist Degree in English Education from Georgia State University in June 1998. In addition to my formal education, I received National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult Literary and Language Arts in November 2004. |
| Teaching Experience: I have been in teaching for many years. My experience includes all of the following: From January 1997 to the present I have been teaching at Parkview High School. Prior to January 1997 I was a stay at home mom for 8 1/2 years, and I also completed most of my graduate school work during that time. From 1985 to 1988 I taught at Central Gwinnett High School and from 1983 to 1985 I taught at Fayette County High School. From November 1979 to 1983 I taught at Evans High School in Evans, GA and from 1976 to November 1979 I taught at Aquinas High School in Augusta, GA. My experience includes teaching Language Arts to students of all levels in every grade from 9 through 12. My first few years of teaching were in the lower grade levels. I taught Reading to 8th graders at Belair School in Martinez, GA from 1973 to 1976. My first year of teaching was at R. L. Norris Middle School in Thomson, GA. I taught 7th grade Reading at this school from 1972 to 1973. |
