Semester One Weekly Schedule

Note: This schedule is tentative and is a work in progress. I will update this schedule on a regular basis so that you can keep up with class events and class assignments.

August 11-15

Do DLPs daily.

Pre-test on Greek root words/prefixes and on literary terms.

Begin studying Group #1 of Greek root words and prefixes.

Short Stories: “The Sniper” and “The Most Dangerous Game” (worksheets & literary terms)

August 18-22

Do DLPs daily.

Begin studying Group #1 Greek root words & prefixes. Test on Wednesday. Make flash cards and study Group #2 Greek root words and prefixes.

Finish “The Most Dangerous Game” (reading the story and completing the worksheet). Read “Casey at the Bat” and “The Red-headed League.” Complete worksheets for “Casey…” and text questions for “The Red-headed….”

August 25-29

Do DLPs daily.

Test on Group #2 Greek root words and prefixes on Monday, Aug. 25. Begin studying Group #3 words for a test on Thursday.

Finish reading “The Red-headed League” and completing the text questions. Test on the first literature unit on Wednesday.

Begin unit on Edgar Allen Poe: Watch the A & E Biography on Poe and complete the study guide. Read “The Cask of Amontillado” and complete questions on story. If time allows this week read “The Raven” and complete questions on this poem.
