RESEARCH PROJECT

We will be working on researching a topic that is connected to Black History.  In addition we will be reading selections by African-American writers, and we will be watching documentaries related to Black History.  For the research project, we will spend approximately three days in the computer lab or media center researching a topic that you will choose from those listed below.  In your research, you will consult a minimum of three sources.  You will also need to find at least three pictures to include on your final project.

After completing your research, you will compile your information onto foam board in an aesthetically pleasing way.  Each fact on your poster should be documented using parenthetical documentation.  A Works Cited page will be attached to your poster.  Your poster will be graded according to documentation, factual information, and creativity/aesthetics.

Do not use Wikipedia!

Browse the site first before deciding if the source of the information is reliable. Just because information is published on the web, it may not be accurate. You will need the name of the article, the home page title, and the URL.  (Suggestion: Print the article so you can highlight your notes from that article.)

Be sure to give the page number(s) of each note if you use any type of hard copy such as a book or a newspaper article.

We will create a Works Cited page using www.easybib.com.
