Origins and Education:
In 1955 I was born in Edmond, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State
University, earning an undergraduate degree in Biology with a Teaching
Certificate. Several years later I returned to OSU to earn an MBA.
Several years ago I enrolled at UGA, completing several on-line courses
to earn Special Education certification.
Careers:
I taught Middle School Science for several years in Dallas, Texas then began a career in
Medical Sales and Sales Training, eventually transferring to Salt Lake
City, Utah. Several years later I made another career change to Human
Resources management and employee development. I moved to the Atlanta
area in 2001 to work for another medical manufacturer, a consulting firm
and a start-up company, before deciding that it was time to return to
teaching. I joined the Parkview Special Education department in 2004
where I have taught Science, Math and Study Skills classes.
Hobbies and Interests:
My interests include scuba diving, skiing, snow-shoeing and hiking as
well as reading, movies, pottery and pastels. I also enjoy traveling;
my trips have taken me to Greece, Fiji, Ireland, Tahiti, Canada, the
Caribbean and 43 States in the U.S. including Alaska. I have two cats,
Jasmine and Sassie, a niece and nephew and, the newest addition to our
family, my Grand-nephew Barrett (on the Homepage). I am a member of St.
Edward's Episcopal Church, serving on the Vestry and in the Choir (2nd
Alto).
