Checklist for Success

 

1)      EVERYTHING I write on the board is important. COPY everything.

 

2)      Review EVERYTHING I have written on the board the day before the test or quiz.

 

3)      Homework is IMPORTANT. Work ALL suggested homework assignments.

 

4)      Review ALL suggested homework assignments the day before the test or quiz.

 

5)      ASK QUESTIONS about problems and concepts you do not understand.

 

6)      Come in before school with problems and concepts you do not understand.

 

7)      Check your solutions to your homework problems.

 

8)      Use every minute in class thinking about or working problems.

 

9)      Rework problems after you have finally understood the concept.

 

10)  Work extra problems and check their answers.

 

11)  Review and recopy notes at night, reworking sample problems to make sure you understand the concept.

 

12)  Form a study group to work on problems.

 

13)  Minimize absences from class. The benefits of class discussion are unsurpassed.

 

14)  In the event of an unavoidable absence, ask for class notes from a fellow student or the teacher.

 

15)  Organize! Organize! Organize! Have a three ring binder with all class notes, homework, tests, and quizzes available for review before assessments.
