In the area of Personal Management, each      student is provided with learning experiences that teach daily living skills, personal-social skills and occupational skills.

OBJECTIVE:  As dictated by each Individualized Education Plan (IEP), students will participate in learning activities, in the classroom and in the community,  using the LCCE curriculum, along with various supplemental materials, that will increase their ability to:

  1. care for personal needs

  2. independently maintain a home

  3. manage finances

  4. maintain satisfactory interpersonal relations

  5. develop vocational interests and skill

  6. achieve future job success

CURRICULUM:

  • Life Centered Career Education (LCCE) curriculum
  • Life Skills for Today's World - (Steck-Vaughn)
  • Additional supplemental materials are used as appropriate

GRADING SYSTEM:
All classroom assignments, including quizzes, test and projects, are averaged equally on a 100% point system.  Extra credit is given for completing homework assignments and for class participation.  

A curriculum based knowledge and performance battery are administered as part of the LCCE curriculum to assess the competencies taught in that curriculum.  These scores are not counted in the regular grading system; but, will be used to measure progress toward mastery of annual IEP goals and objectives.

MAKE-UP WORK:
In accordance with school policy, students may complete work within 5 days of an excused absence.  If assignments are not completed within the allotted time, a "0" will be given.

EXPECTATIONS:
   Students are expected to :
     1.  participate in all class activities
     2.  bring all needed materials to class each day
     3.  participate in all community skills activities as dictated 
          by the IEP          
     4.  observe all classroom, school and county rules

ATTENDANCE:
The attendance policy of Parkview High School will be adhered to strictly.
